Jean Delbeke received his MD degree from the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium in 1972. He specialised in neuropsychiatry at the same University (1972-75) and at the McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada (1975-76). He has been active as a clinical neurologist and neurophysiologist from 1976 to 2002. He received his M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Université catholique de Louvain in 1993. He was a part time research resident at the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen (KUN), the Netherlands in 1994-95. He received his PhD in Biomedical Sciences - Neuroscience in 2002. Jean Delbeke is currently appointed as a research associate at the Neural Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory since 1997 (full time since 2002).
